Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

My roommate from college told me a story about a time he ran away from home. He was seven, and he had just gotten into a fight with his mom over watching TV. After the argument, he was so upset that he decided he was going to teach his mom a lesson. He decided to run away from home. He packed some saltine crackers for sustenance, and walked down the street a couple miles. When he got tired, he found a tree, climbed up it, and sat there in hopes his mother would be worried about him. After half an hour had passed, he began to get hungry so he started to eat his crackers. Four hours later, he had run out of saltines and decided his mom probably learned her lesson. When he returned home, he expected to find the police, but to his dismay there were none. He slowly opened the door and went in to the house expecting his mom to be crying or at least angry, but when he found his mom in the kitchen, she barely even noticed he had been gone!

There are few people we can rely on, and parents are as reliable as they come. But even they make mistakes, but it’s important to understand that they always have our best interest in mind. On top of that, we have a perfect God who only wants his will to be instilled into each and every one of us. In times of trouble, sadness, anger, and even happiness, God will always be by our side.
